Business Development Director (3000-10FG)

At Synthetic Genomics, Inc., we are dedicated to developing and commercializing genomic-driven solutions to address global challenges. We are currently seeking a Business Development Director to join our fast-growing, dynamic and collaborative team in La Jolla, CA.

Responsibilities:

As the Business Development Director you will support the development and implementation of our business strategy, specifically you will:

• Explore, understand, monitor and evaluate the potential markets for SGI technologies
• Assess market needs and internal capabilities, identifying opportunities
• Elaborate techno-economic simulations and analysis for decision making
• Elaborate and execute business plans, strategies and marketing plans
• Prepare executive presentations to present opportunities
• Develop and nurture relationships with potential partners and customers
• With executive team, structure, execute and manage deals that create value for the company
• Effectively lead and participate on project teams, working in collaboration with a full range of internal and external parties

Qualifications:

• MBA degree from top-tier business school required
• Science degree in the field of Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Biochemical or Chemical Engineering
• At least 7 years of solid experience including both business development and management consulting in top-tier organizations
• Financial and business acumen and proven skills for commercially successful business relationships
• Self-motivation, strong analytical, team work and communications skills
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
