Guided by complex metabolic models, we manipulate metabolic pathways, or introduce new ones, to direct the biosynthesis of commercial products and improve microbial properties essential for effective and reliable performance in large-scale bioprocesses. SGI is harnessing the latest advances in synthetic genomics and combinatorial genomics to design and develop customized modular cassettes and synthetic chromosomes that encode entire metabolic pathways.
